The LCARS Manifesto and Creating a Coherent LCARS Interface are excellent guides for creating LCARS designs. My experiments are also leading toward an appreciation of the color palette called “CGArne”. Its color scheme seems excellent for LCARS uses, although I also like the blue color I use by default. I’m working on some prototype LCARS designs – game mockups. My initial efforts were a bit too ambitious, so I’m trying to simplify things and get the mockups (and related assets) released.
Please note, try to use only 5 different hues and colors, not counting the background. Any font will probably work, but an especially appropriate one is Horta. The original, which seems to be only for personal use, is Swiss 911 Ultra Condensed.
