Working Plan
Sleuth1 Remix » Devlog
Okay, so far all I’ve really accomplished is to (a) learn about procedural generation, mostly in Godot Engine, and (b) collect graphics, most of which will need editing/recoloring. The learning curve is steep, so I’m adjusting my plan for this game development:
- Mock-ups (to continue shaping the game design)
- Prototype(s) (to test out the procedural generation and game mechanics)
- Alpha-version/Demo (doesn’t need much procgen at all, just needs to work like the DOS game, more or less)
- Beta release (needs at least two different murder mysteries, procgen mansion layout, and at least two possible motives for every suspect, as well as a decent number of possible suspects to randomly insert into the game; may need a random name generator, I’m not sure)
I may go slow on the mockups and prototypes for this month, I want to try out a lot of stuff for procgen and Godot, as I’m brand-new to both. I’ll probably get the Alpha/Demo done in April sometime…
